Ukraine’s forex reserves drop 4% on month to $26.94-bln as of May 1

KYIV, May 6 – As of May 1, 2022, according to preliminary data, Ukraine's international reserves amounted to $26.945 billion (in equivalent), which is 4% less than at the beginning of April ($28.107 billion), according to the data National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), released on Friday.


Ukrainian govt seeks to address motor fuel market problems

Ukraine exports 1.09-mln mt of grain in April via Romanian ports

KYIV, May 9 – In April 2022, Ukraine exported 1.09 million tons of grain mainly through Romanian ports, which is more than five times higher than in March, but in the summer the country will face problems when exporting grain through Romania due to increased transshipment of this agricultural products from other countries in the region by the ports.


Ukrlandfarming loses 40% of farming land due to war

Ukraine to build 15 modern reinforced concrete ammunition storage facilities

KYIV, May 8 – Ukraine plans to build 15 modern reinforced concrete ammunition storage facilities this year.

The construction of the facilities was considered on Tuesday as part of the inspection by Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak of the military arsenal in Khmelnytsky region, the ministry said on its website.


Naftogaz annuls tender to select manager for unbundling project

Turboatom, Toshiba sign memorandum to cooperate in nuclear power sector

KYIV, May 8 – Turboatom (Kharkiv) and Japan's Toshiba Energy Systems in June 2018 plan to sign a memorandum of understanding as part of stepping up cooperation between Japan and Ukraine in the nuclear energy sector, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine has reported.


NBU, Ukrainian banks work together on international bank account number regulation

KYIV, May 8 – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) jointly with the Independent Association of Banks of Ukraine (NABU) has started working on joint approaches to implement ISO 13616 (International bank account number, IBAN) standard and ISO 9362 (Business identifier code, BIC) by Ukrainian banks, the central bank said.


EBRD sees Ukraine’s economy growing 3% in 2018, 3% in 2019

KYIV, May 10 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has left unchanged its forecast for Ukrainian economy growth in 2018 at 3% and expects that the same pace would be retained in 2019, the bank has said in a survey.
