Metinvest CEO hopeful on prospects for eurobond resttructuring

KRYVY RIH (Dnipropetrovsk region), Sept. 9 – Metinvest, Ukraine's largest Ukrainian private mining and metal company, after the successful restructuring of payment on eurobonds at the first phase expects that the mutually beneficial agreement with the bond holders and banks would be received in the future.


Ukrainian bank assets increased by 0.5% last month, NBU reports

KIEV, Sept. 9 – Total Ukrainian bank assets, including reserves, grew by 0.5% in August, to UAH 1.351 trillion, while assets alone expanded by 0.5%, to UAH 1.214 trillion.


Roshen shareholder thanks Ukrainians for buying its candy during ban

KIEV, Sept. 9 – Roshen Confectionery Corporation, after Russia imposed a ban on the supply of its chocolate produce, increased sales in Ukraine by 13%, the main shareholder of the company, MP (no faction) Petro Poroshenko said Friday.


Dutch HoST and Stork Technical to study biofuel for Kyivenergo

KIEV, Sept. 9 – Dutch HoST B.V. and Stork Technical Services by the end of 2013 will draw up a feasibility study for the introduction of biofuel water heating boilers and cogeneration plants at some boilers of public joint-stock company Kyivenergo, Kyivenergo reported.


Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council to consider new Chevron Oleska PSA

Russia's Lukoil resumes polyethylene production at Karpatnaftokhim

AMC allows Italy’s Eni S.p.A to buy Lviv region shale gas developer

KIEV, Sept. 7 – Ukraine’s Antimonopoly Committee has permitted Italy's Eni S.p.A to acquire a 50.01% stake in Zakhidgazinvest LLC (Ivano-Frankivsk region), which has licenses to develop nine shale gas fields in Lviv region with total area of around 3,800 square kilometers.


Deflation accelerated last month, State Statistics Service reports

KIEV, Sept. 7 – Ukraine saw 0.3% deflation in August, a faster price decline than July’s 0.2%, the State Statistics Service reported.

Consumer prices in Ukraine in 2012 have been declining for fourth months in a row: deflation in May and June 2012 was 0.3% each.


New Boryspil airport terminal opening facing unspecified delays

KIEV, Sept. 10 – The key airlines at Boryspil airport – AeroSvit and Ukraine International Airlines – will be able to transfer their flights to new terminal D only when the terminal is completed, and the airlines' flights are not serviced at terminals B and F, Boryspil airport's director general, Anton Volov, said at a briefing on Monday.


Geothermal to build alternative energy facility in Ivano-Frankivsk

IVANO-FRANKIVSK, Sept. 10 – Geothermal limited liability company (Ivano-Frankivsk) plans to realize an investment project on the construction of a geothermal facility in Ivano-Frankivsk to obtain alternative sources of energy for housing and utilities.
