Investigation into passenger car imports causes auto market jump
KIEV, Aug. 11 – An investigation into imports of passenger cars with 1-2.2 liter engines started by Ukraine on July 2 at the initiative of the Ukrautoprom association and the possibility of the introduction of a 47% import duty caused a jump in the car market in July, the All-Ukrainian Association of Car Importers and Dealers said. |
Ukraine sees 32.3% increase in electricity exports through July 31
KIEV, Aug. 11 - Ukraine in January-July 2011 increased electricity exports by 32.3% or by 749.7 million kilowatt-hours, to 3.073 billion kilowatt-hours, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry announced.
Electricity exports to Hungary, Slovakia and Romania from the Burshtyn thermal power plant in the first seven months of 2011 rose by 3.1 times or 1.138 billion kilowatt-hours compared to January-July 2010, to 1.683 billion kilowatt-hours. |
An-70 aircraft program reported delayed due to financing lack

China reported interested Darnytsia-to-Boryspil rail construction

KIEV, Aug. 10 - Since receiving from the International Monetary Fund the first, 1.25-billion-SDR tranche of a new stand-by credit, Ukraine now owes the Fund 8.25 billion SDR ($12.66 billion) and is the world's second largest IMF debtor. |
Ukrenergo announces auction for September power line access
KIEV, Aug. 11 – Ukrenergo has announced an auction for access to Ukrainian interstate power lines for electricity exports for the period from September 1 to September 30.
According to a posting on Ukrenergo's Web site, the access to 2,610 MW of electricity to be exported in four directions is divided into 18 lots, which differ in terms of power transmission capacity. |
