Govt bill would allow foreign currency-denominated domestic bonds

Lithuania wants to buy electricity from Ukraine, says envoy
KIEV, Dec. 8 – Lithuania is still interested in buying supplies of Ukrainian electricity, Marius Yanukonis, Lithuanian Assistant Ambassador to Ukraine said.
"The issue is on the agenda today. We're still interested in acquiring Ukrainian electricity, but we should have a trilateral agreement [with Belarus], which we haven't yet signed," he told Interfax-Ukraine. |
UkrSibbank chairman cites shareholder willingness to provide support

Ukrainian coke-chemical companies increase coking coal imports
DNIPROPETROVSK, Dec. 11 - Ukrainian coke-chemical companies increased imports of coking coal by 2.5% year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2008, to 9.5 million tons, the general director of steel industry association Metallurgprom, Vasyl Kharakhulakh said Wednesday at a mining and metals industry conference. |
Average daily cast iron production spikes in early December
KIEV, Dec. 11 – Average daily cast iron production in Ukraine grew from 42,600 tons in November to 50,900 tons over the first eight days of December, a 20% rise, Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn said at a meeting with representatives of business and scientific circles of Ukraine. |
Industry ministry announces plan to support domestic metals market
