Prospecting raised reserves by 28 million tons in 2011, says Naftogaz
KIEV, Feb. 9 - Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy's geological prospecting work last year resulted in a 28-million-ton increase in its reserves of standard fuel, 6.5% more than planned and almost 7% over the amount of reserves it had the year before, the company reported on Thursday. |
NBU may ease monetary policy again this month, says advisor
KIEV, Feb. 9 – The National Bank of Ukraine could consider a second round of easing of monetary policy in February following the decrease in refinancing rates in January, said Valeriy Lytvytsky, the head of the group of advisors to the NBU governor. |
Finance ministry approves $3.5 billion of eurobonds for 2012
KIEV, Feb. 10 – The plan for financing the general fund of the national budget for 2012 foresees the issue of eurobonds worth UAH 28.35 billion ($3.5 billion at the UAH 8.10/$1 exchange rate) with total financing of UAH 88.35 billion, reads the program of state debt management for 2012 approved by the Finance Ministry. |
Electricity exports more than doubled in January, government reports
KIEV, Feb. 10 - Ukraine increased its electricity exports 2.1-fold year-on-year in January 2012 to 522.6 million kilowatt hours, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported.
Electricity exports from the Burshtyn Energy Island to Hungary, Slovakia and Romania jumped 44% to 348.3 million kilowatt hours. |
Russia’s VEB issues $390 million to Ukraine’s Prominvestbank
MOSCOW, Feb. 12 - Russia's Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank, VEB), the largest shareholder in Kiev-based Prominvestbank, has issued a first $390 million tranche to the Ukrainian bank.
The opening of a $1 billion credit line was approved by the VEB supervisory council to realize a plan for the financial readjustment of the bank. |
