KIEV, Feb. 10 - Ukraine increased its electricity exports 2.1-fold year-on-year in January 2012 to 522.6 million kilowatt hours, the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry reported.
Electricity exports from the Burshtyn Energy Island to Hungary, Slovakia and Romania jumped 44% to 348.3 million kilowatt hours.
Belarus imported 111.4 million kilowatt hours of Ukrainian electricity in January, whereas Ukraine did not export any electricity to Belarus in January of last year.
