Ukraine cuts gas prices, reverses reforms

KYIV, Jan 13 – Ukraine will cut 30% natural gas prices for households, introducing state regulation in the sector for the first time in five years, due to coronavirus pandemic, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said Wednesday.


Regal Petroleum boosts gas output in Ukraine by 25.7% in 2019

KYIV, Jan 10 – Regal Petroleum Plc, a British oil and gas company with assets in Ukraine, in 2019 increased the average daily production of gas, condensate and LPG by 25.7% compared to 2018, to 4,263 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd), the company said on the website of the London Stock Exchange.


Goldman Sachs sees Ukraine’s inflation accelerating to 5% in 2020

KYIV, Jan 10 – Goldman Sachs predicts the increase in inflation in Ukraine by 4.1% in 2019 and to 5% in 2020, according to the materials of the bank.

The bank said that the basic pace of inflation will remain moderate.

The forecast is based on a projection of the stable hryvnia exchange rate movement.


INGO provides insurance coverage to athletes at 2020 Youth Olympics

KYIV, Jan 11 – INGO Ukraine, the Kyiv-based insurance company, which is the official insurer of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine, has provided insurance coverage to 39 athletes who will compete in 12 of the 16 possible disciplines at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne.


Ukraine’s ArcelorMittal seeks restrictions on steel imports from Belarus

KYIV, Jan 11 – ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) considers it necessary to review into the decision on steel imports from Belarus and Moldova to Ukraine taken by the Interagency Commission on International Trade following the results of the respective investigation, and to impose restrictions on steel imports from Belarus in the view of obvious evidence of dumping.


Ukraine’s inflation at 4.1% in 2019 is lower than central bank expected

KYIV, Jan 13 – Ukraine’s inflation in 2019 appeared to be lower than the central bank had expected and was the result of its efforts to achieve price stability, the National Bank of Ukraine reported Monday.
