KIEV, May 10 - Ukraine reduced gas transit to Europe and other CIS countries by 8.127 billion cubic meters (bcm) or 20.2% year-on-year in January-April 2012, to 32.137 bcm, Ukrtransgaz, a subsidiary of national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrayiny, reported.


Bioethanol requirements will boost industry capacity, official says

KIEV, May 10 – The recommended addition of 5% bioethanol to gasoline in 2013 and its obligatory addition in 2014 will increase the capacity utilization of Ukraine’s alcohol facilities to 70% or more, said Kostiantyn Borodin the deputy director of the department on oil and gas industry and alternative energy at the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.


Russia may take lead in emission projects, says investment group

KIEV, May 10 – Russia in 2012 has boosted its production of emission reduction units (ERUs) and has every chance of forcing Ukraine from first position in the realization of joint projects, the Environmental (Green) Investments Fund (Kiev) told Interfax-Ukraine.
