Analysts peg price of state Ukrtelecom stake at UAH11-12 billion
KIEV, Oct. 13 – The price of a 92.79% stake in OJSC Ukrtelecom soon to be put up for sale will be UAH 11-12 billion, according to analysts of investment companies polled by Interfax-Ukraine.
"I expected that the price of Ukrtelecom at the auction will not exceed UAH 11 billion," an analyst of Concorde Capital, Yehor Samusenko, said. |
Steel trade group expects Ukraine consumption to fall 50.8% this year
BEIJING, Oct. 13 - Steel consumption in Ukraine will contract by 50.8%, to 3.413 million tons in 2009, the World Steel Association announced at the 43rd WSA annual conference that is being held on Oct. 12-14 in Beijing.
The group says that steel consumption in Ukraine in 2010 will grow by 9.7%, to 3.744 million tons against the forecasted consumption level in 2009.
The report says that in 2008 consumption went down by 16.5% in Ukraine year-over-year, to 6.936 million tons.

Bidder for Odessa tender says government should return deposit
KIEV, Oct. 12 – Nortima Ltd. has accused Ukraine's State Property Fund, which refused to declare the company the winner of a tender to sell a 99.567% stake in OJSC Odessa port-side chemical plant, of inconsistency for not returning to Nortima its UAH 400 million bid deposit. |
USDA increases monthly forecast for Ukraine 2009 grain harvest
KIEV, Oct. 13 - The United States Department of Agriculture has forecast the 2009 grain harvest in Ukraine at 42.95 million tons and grain exports in the 2009/2010 marketing year (July 2009 – June 2010) at 17.05 million tons, which is 500,000 tons up on the forecast it made a month ago. |
Ukraine’s real estate market more stable than Russia’s, says official
KIEV, Oct. 10 – The Ukrainian real estate market is more stable under the current crisis conditions than the Russian market, according to Lev Partskhaladze, chairman of the Ukrainian Construction Association and the board chairman of Kiev-based XXI Century Developing Company.

Ukraine plans to suspend electricity exports to Poland by November
Nalyvaikivka, KIEV region, Oct. 13 – Ukraine plans to suspend electricity exports to Poland, Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan said.
"We plan to stop supplies to Poland from November or even earlier," he told the press during a visit to the construction site of the Kievska 750 kV substation in the settlement of Nalyvaikivka in Kiev region. |
