EBRD investment in Ukraine decreased 8.4% in 2012, bank reports

KIEV, Jan. 11 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 2012 cut investment in Ukraine by 8.4% compared to 2011, to EUR 934 million, the Kiev office of the bank reported.


Monetary base will grow 6-8% this year, according to cenbank forecast

KIEV, Jan. 14 – The growth of monetary base in Ukraine in 2013 will amount to 6-8% depending on the scenario of economic development.

Such figures were stipulated in the main principles of monetary and credit policy for 2013, the text of which has been posted on the Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine.


Regal Petroleum reports progress in Svyrydivske field gas extraction

KIEV, Jan. 12 - Regal Petroleum says it has achieved the stable extraction of 395 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) (55,920 cubic meters of natural gas and 10.5 cubic meters of gas condensate per day) at the SV-58 well of the Svyrydivske field.


Zorya-Mashproekt to supply gas turbines to North Stream pipeline

KIEV, Jan. 13 – Mykolaiv-based Zorya-Mashproekt state scientific center will deliver gas turbine equipment to the Bovanenkovskaya compressor station (Russia, Yamal), which is being built as a part of the North Stream gas pipeline project.

KIEV, Jan. 13 – Ukrainian bank revenues in 2009 were estimated at UAH 143.1 billion, while their expenses totaled UAH 171.1 billion, the National Bank of Ukraine has reported.


Government reports Skhidny Mining 2009 Uranium production off 4.7%

KIEV, Jan. 14 - Skhidny Mining, Ukraine's and Europe's biggest uranium miner, cut uranium ore production 4.7% in 2009 to 1.042 million tons, Fant Di, spokesman for the Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Ministry, told Interfax.


45,000 mine and metals workers lost jobs in 2009, says union official

DNIPROPETROVSK, Jan. 14 – Ukrainian mining and metals companies in 2009 laid off 45,000 workers, Volodymyr Kazachenko, the head of the central committee of the metallurgists and miners' trade union of Ukraine said at a meeting with representatives of the said companies in Dnipropetrovsk on Wednesday.


Ukrainian metals market shrank 37% last year, official reports

KIEV, Jan. 14 – The capacity of the Ukrainian metals products market shrank by 37% in 2009, to 5.8 million tons.

The data was revealed by the head of the department for the mining and metals complex at Derzhzovnishinform, Volodymyr Pikovsky, at a meeting with representatives of mining and metals companies in Dnipropetrovsk on Wednesday.


Ukrtransgaz reports 12.6% reduction in gas pumping from underground

KIEV, Jan. 12 - Ukrtransgaz reduced the pumping of gas from underground storage facilities by 12.6%, or 1.9 billion cubic meters, in 2007, to 13.2 billion cubic meters, the company reported on Friday.


Govt to allow regional administrations to impose charges on fuel

KIEV, Jan. 14 - The government plans to give the right to regional state administrations to introduce maximum extra charges on diesel fuel and gasoline sold through filling stations, at the level no more than 10% of the wholesale and sales price of the producer or the customs value, the Economy Ministry reported on Saturday.
