Monetary base will grow 6-8% this year, according to cenbank forecast
KIEV, Jan. 14 – The growth of monetary base in Ukraine in 2013 will amount to 6-8% depending on the scenario of economic development.
Such figures were stipulated in the main principles of monetary and credit policy for 2013, the text of which has been posted on the Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine. |
45,000 mine and metals workers lost jobs in 2009, says union official
DNIPROPETROVSK, Jan. 14 – Ukrainian mining and metals companies in 2009 laid off 45,000 workers, Volodymyr Kazachenko, the head of the central committee of the metallurgists and miners' trade union of Ukraine said at a meeting with representatives of the said companies in Dnipropetrovsk on Wednesday.

Ukrainian metals market shrank 37% last year, official reports
KIEV, Jan. 14 – The capacity of the Ukrainian metals products market shrank by 37% in 2009, to 5.8 million tons.
The data was revealed by the head of the department for the mining and metals complex at Derzhzovnishinform, Volodymyr Pikovsky, at a meeting with representatives of mining and metals companies in Dnipropetrovsk on Wednesday. |
Govt to allow regional administrations to impose charges on fuel
KIEV, Jan. 14 - The government plans to give the right to regional state administrations to introduce maximum extra charges on diesel fuel and gasoline sold through filling stations, at the level no more than 10% of the wholesale and sales price of the producer or the customs value, the Economy Ministry reported on Saturday.
