Commission suspends anti-dumping measures on Russian fertilizer

KIEV, Feb. 14 – The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade on February 13 decided to suspend anti-dumping measures on imports to Ukraine of certain nitrogen fertilizers (carbamide and carbamide-ammonium mixture) produced in the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has said in a statement.


Ukraine initiates WTO probe of Russian trade transit restrictions

KIEV, Feb. 13 – Ukraine on February 9 filed a requirement to the World Trade Organization (WTO) to set up an expert group within the framework of the case on numerous transit restrictions from the territory of Ukraine through Russian territory to third countries - Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (DS512 Russia - measures for transit traffic), the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine has reported.


Statistics show acceleration in Ukraine GDP increase in Q4 2016

KIEV, Feb. 14 - The growth of Ukraine's gross domestic product in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to the same period of 2015 accelerated to 4.7% compared to 2% in the third quarter, according to the State Statistics Service.

Russia’s Mechel extends Donetsk plant shutdown through July 1

KIEV, Feb. 14 - Russian coal and steel group Mechel has extended the shutdown at its Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant (DEMZ) in Ukraine until July 1.

"Mechel management has approved an extension of the idling of Donetsk Metallurgical Plant until July 1, 2013. We will contact Mechel's leadership concerning the reasons for the shutdown and how to get out of this situation," said Donetsk Mayor Oleksandr Lukianchenko.


40,000-ton capacity battery recycling plant to open in Dnipropetrovsk

KIEV, Feb. 14 – A new waste battery recycling plant of a large Ukrainian producer of accumulator batteries, Westa Corporation, - RekS (Lead Recuperation) with a production capacity of 40,000 tons (three million batteries) per year will start operating in May, said Oleksandr Vilkul, the head of Dnipropetrovsk regional administration.
