Petroleum imports totaled $4.8 billion through Nov. 30, govt reports

KIEV, Dec. 12 - Ukraine imported $4.8 billion worth of petroleum products in January-November, Energy and Coal Industry Ministry head Vadym Zaporozhchenko said on Monday.

There was a significant growth in diesel fuel imports, 90% of which came from the Customs Union countries, he said.


State Tax Service comes out in favor of 10% gasoline duty hike

KIEV, Dec. 13 - The State Tax Service has supported a bill that proposes an increase in gasoline excise duty by 10%, to EUR 200 per ton, and the equalization of excise duties on all types of diesel fuel, increasing them by 11-138%, to EUR 100 pre ton, at the Tax Service department head Iryna Melnyk told reporters.


Government proposes 10% increase for gasoline excise duties

KIEV, Dec. 13 – Ukraine's Infrastructure Ministry has proposed to increase excise duties on gasoline by 10%, to EUR 200 per ton, and make excise duties on all types of diesel fuel equal, boosting them by 11-138%, to EUR 100 per ton, the Kiev-based A-95 consulting group has reported.


NBU sells off $3.9 billion of foreign currency through Nov. 30

KIEV, Dec. 14 – The National Bank of Ukraine in January-November 2011 sold $3.909 billion more in foreign currency on the interbank currency market than it bought, while in January-November 2010 the balance of the central bank's interventions came to $1.94 billion.

Government estimates $269/1,000 cm natural gas price for next year

KIEV, Dec. 14 - The Ukrainian government forecasts that the price of imported natural gas will average $269 per 1,000 cubic meters in 2011.

The assumption is contained in the macro-economic and social development forecasts, according to materials submitted to Parliament together with the 2011 budget.
