Finance ministry to issue foreign currency-pegged T-bills this fall
KIEV, July 13 – The Finance Ministry is planning in autumn 2012 to issue treasury bills pegged to foreign currency issued in physical certificate form payable to bearer worth a total of $200-300 million, the director of the debt and international financial policy department at the ministry, Halyna Pakhachuk, said. |
EBRD to loan $50 million to large Ukrainian poultry producer
KIEV, July 15 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has signed an agreement with one of the largest vertically integrated poultry meat producers in Ukraine - Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) - on the issue of a $50 million loan, Director of the EBRD Representative Office for Ukraine Andre Kuusvek has said. |
Ukrainian grain stocks down by one-third, government reports
KIEV, July 15 – Grain stocks at Ukrainian agribusinesses (not including small farms) and grain storage and processing companies totaled 4.9 million tons as of July 1, which was a third less than the same date of 2009, the State Statistics Committee reported.

US and Ukrainian Sea Breeze 2010 naval exercises underway in Odessa
KIEV, July 15 – The U.S. and Ukrainian Sea Breeze 2010 exercises are underway in Odessa.
A team of 50 scuba divers made up from military divers of the U.S. Navy, the Royal Naval Forces of Denmark and the Naval Forces of Ukraine are taking part in the exercises, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on July 13. |
Ukrainian vehicle production declines 84% year-on-year in first half
KIEV, July 15 – Ukrainian vehicle producers in H1 produced 37,939 passenger cars, trucks and buses, which is almost 84% or 6.3 times down year-over-year, Ukravtoprom Association announced.
A total of 36,548 passenger cars (6.1 times down year-over-year), 935 trucks (8.2 times down year-over-year) and 456 buses (12.3 times down year-over-year) were manufactured over the period in question. |
Cabinet orders finance ministry to issue UAH18.6 billion of bonds
KIEV, July 14 – The Cabinet of Ministers has instructed the Finance Ministry to issue government domestic loan bonds worth UAH 18.6 billion to form a stabilization fund as part of Ukraine's national budget, with the aim of raising Naftogaz Ukrayiny's statutory capital through the issue of stock.

Ukrainians sign deal with Mitsubishi, Sumitomo on wind power units
KIEV, July 14 – The Ukrainian National Agency for Efficient Use of Energy Resources, the National Space Agency of Ukraine, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Sumitomo Group have signed a letter of intent on the joint manufacture of 1 MW and 2.4 MW wind power units on the basis of Pivdenmash engineering plant in Dnipropetrovsk.
