The Krasnoilsk unit of the Chernivtsi detachment of Ukraine's Border Service was forced to open fire while patrolling the Ukraine-Romania border after being attacked by a gang of smugglers, who threatened them in an attempt to get cartons of cigarettes back. Two persons received gunshot wounds to their extremities.
