Naftogaz chief calls for European natgas monitors at Russian border Journal Staff Report
The presence of European observers at the gas metering stations located at the entrance of Russian gas to Ukraine could contribute to the transparency of supplies to Europe, Naftogaz Ukrayiny chief Andriy Kobolev said. "We want to propose Europe monitor the flow of gas from Ukraine to Europe," he said at a conference organized by the European Policy Centre in Brussels. Kobolev noted that all gas metering stations are located in Russia and Belarus, which complicates data control.
