Ukrainian farmers plant winter grain crops on 15% of forecast area Journal Staff Report
As of September 27, Ukrainian agricultural producers sowed the main winter crops on an area of 709,000 hectares (15% of the forecast of 4.56 million hectares), while over the past week on September 20-27 some 298,000 hectares were sown, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported. According to the agency, 16% of the planned area, or 622,000 hectares were sown with wheat, barley was sown on 65,000 hectares, rye – 27,000 hectares.
