Ukrainian traders buy capacity for power exports to Romania Journal Staff Report
Ukrainian traders were prepared to pay more than UAH 11,000 per MWh at a daily auction held by Ukrenergo to distribute interconnection capacity to export electricity to Romania at certain times on July 5, raising the overall price of daily transmission capacity to UAH 21.6 million, or 25% above the previous record of UAH 17.3 million. The capacity price for six evening and night hours ranged from UAH 11,190 to UAH 11,670, the highest for the six auctions held since June 30, when clearance was received to export 100 MW of electricity to Romania. The highest price prior to that was UAH 9,800/MWh.
