Sluggish reform progress in Ukraine may result in frictions between Ukraine and the IMF, Oxford Economics said in the September 2020 report. The IMF has been assured of the independence of the National Bank of Ukraine, which has enabled to increase social spending significantly in 2020-2021, based on pessimistic growth and tax administration outlook.
