KYIV, Apr 15 – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine strives to begin the negotiation process on accession to the European Union as quickly as possible – no later than June of this year, the Department of Communications of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine said on Friday.

20.04.2024 European Commission wants Kyiv to fulfil conditions for more aid
KYIV, Apr 15 – The European Commission expects Kyiv to fulfill previously agreed conditions and for the European Council to approve the Ukraine Plan, which will allow it to allocate another EUR 1.5 billion in April and EUR 1.9 billion in May under the Ukraine Facility, Executive Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis said.

20.04.2024 EU seeks to increase share in capital of EBRD by July 30, 2025
KYIV, Apr 15 – On April 12, the Council of the European Union at the level of finance ministers decided to increase the EU's shares in the capital of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD): the EU will subscribe to 12,102 additional shares of EUR 10,000 each until July 30, 2025.

20.04.2024 Ukraine begins building first AP1000 unit at Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant
KYIV, Apr 15 – Energoatom and the U.S. company Westinghouse have begun a project to build KhNPP-5 and KhNPP-6 using AP1000 technology.
The launch ceremony of the project took place on April 11 at Khmelnytsky nuclear power plant site with the participation of U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Haluschenko (information is provided with a delay for security reasons).
