KIEV, Feb. 8 – Ukraine’s presidential election may plunge into a legal mess amid signs Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has been hastily assembling a team of lawyers seeking to contest the results in courts.
Tymoshenko lost the election to opposition leader Viktor Yanukovych by a narrow margin, according to six independent opinion polls released late Sunday.
But she had summoned up a legal team, led by Andriy Portnov, at the campaign headquarters shortly after the exit polls had been announced, people familiar with the situation, said.
