KIEV, Dec. 11 – The National Bank of Ukraine has demanded that the banks temporarily stop transferring money abroad using hryvnias and the Western Union system, according to an NBU letter to the banks.

"Until the Western Union international payment system sends upgraded software to receive money transfers in hryvnias with conversion into foreign currency, the banks are to suspend the provision of the service," reads the letter.
