KIEV, Nov. 2 - President Viktor Yushchenko on Monday called on the government to take “urgent measures” to renegotiate a natural gas agreement with Russia to prevent political aggravation by the end of the year.

The calls come days after Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has warned Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Russian lawmakers that Ukraine has been increasingly unable to pay for gas imports.
