KIEV, Oct. 18 – Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will seek to combine duties of the president and prime minister if she wins the next presidential election, a person familiar with Tymoshenko’s strategy said Saturday.

This would require approving amendments to the constitution, and Tymoshenko would seek to secure the approval through launching a constitutional referendum, the person said.

“The goal is to combine these two positions,” a senior government official familiar with Tymoshenko’s strategy, said.
