KIEV, Oct. 5 - Ukraine will make sure that Russian natural gas supplies to the European Union are not disrupted during the upcoming winter, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Monday.
Tymoshenko reacted to concerns that Naftogaz Ukrayiny, the national oil and gas company, is facing a financial crunch and thus will not be able to repair the gas pipelines on time.
“I would like to assure the European community that that all repairs and maintenance work to prepare Ukraine’s gas transportation networks for transporting Russian gas to the European Union have been fulfilled,” Tymoshenko said.
