KIEV, Oct. 1 - Ukraine’s Yenakievo Iron and Steel Works (YeMZ), one of the world’s largest producers of steel billets, signed a Joint Implementation Project (JIP) deal under the Kyoto Protocol with ING Bank seeking to reduce emissions of greenhouse gas (GHG).

According to preliminary estimates, the project will help the company to reduce GHG emissions into the atmosphere by about 1.5 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent by 2012, the company said in a statement.
