KIEV, Sept. 3 – Any further lending from the International Monetary Fund to Ukraine is in “serious doubt” after the government has failed to implement five out of six major conditions, President Viktor Yushchenko said Thursday.
The IMF lending is crucial for Ukraine to avoid default on foreign debts. An IMF team is currently in the country investigating whether the country can qualify for $3.1 billion next installment.
But Yushchenko said the talks with the IMF will be very difficult.
