KIEV, Sept. 1 - Russia has tentatively agreed not to impose penalties on Ukraine for lower-than-expected imports of natural gas this year, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Tuesday.

“Today we discussed natural gas issues and the position of the Russian prime minister is that Ukraine should pay for as much as it consumes,” Tymoshenko said in a statement.
