KIEV, Aug. 17 – Ukraine may face growing inflation if Parliament on Friday overrides a veto from President Viktor Yushchenko and allows the National Bank of Ukraine to print 9.8 billion hryvnias to pay for infrastructure projects.
Serhiy Popov, deputy chief of staff at the Yushchenko office, said two biggest groups, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko’s and the opposition Regions Party, may join forces to override the veto.
“The presidential office is concerned with the situation,” Popov said.
