KIEV, July 27 - Actual year-on-year wages in Ukraine fell in June 2009 by 8.6%, while in June 2008 it grew by 5.4% year-over-year, the State Statistics Committee reported.
According to the committee, the average nominal wage in June 2009 was UAH 2,115, which is a 0.2% rise against May 2009 and 5.2% compared to June 2008.
The highest wages in June 2009 were registered in Kiev city (UAH 3,283), Donetsk region (UAH 2,174), Kiev region (UAH 2,078), Dnipropetrovsk region (UAH 2,022), Sevastopol city (UAH 1,984) and Luhansk region (UAH 1,919), the committee reported.
