KIEV, July 14 – Ukraine could receive up to $2 billion from the sale of quotas for greenhouse gas emissions under the Kyoto Protocol, which could in turn be used to reform the country's housing and utilities sector, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said.
She was speaking at a celebratory meeting dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the Batkivschyna party in Kiev on Tuesday.
"We are ready to attract up to two billion dollars from the sale of our quotas [for greenhouse gas emissions] and fully reform our housing and utilities sector in three years," she said, adding that Ukraine would be able to do this.
