KIEV, July 6 – President Viktor Yushchenko has asked Lithuanian President-Elect Dalia Grybauskaite to help Ukraine implement the Euro-Asian Oil Transport Corridor project.

"I addressed Mrs. Grybauskaite with a request that she personally participate in the consideration of this issue in Brussels," the presidential press service quoted Yushchenko as saying at a meeting with Grybauskaite in Vilnius on Monday.

Yushchenko also said that Lithuania had consistently supported Ukraine's plans to join the European Union and NATO, and that Lithuania's leadership was "one of the main supporters of this integration of Ukraine."
