KIEV, July 3 – Azovstal, Ukraine’s third-largest steelmaker, plans to dramatically reduce emissions of greenhouse gas (GHG) into the atmosphere as it plans to introduce energy conservation program, the company’s press service said Friday.
Azovstal signed a deal with Global Carbon to draft and to track a joint implementation project under the Kyoto protocol aimed at introduction of energy saving technology and to increase energy efficiency of the company. Azovstal plans to sell Emission Reduction Units to raise cash for implementation of the program.
