KIEV, June 2 - Most Ukrainian mines reduced iron ore production in January-May.
Poltava Mining, the core asset of Ferrexpo plc, cut commercial pellet production tentatively 11.1% year-on-year to 3.399 million tons, the company told Interfax. Iron ore concentrate production fell 9.8% to 4.095 million tons. PGOK exports most of its pellets.
Northern Mining and Beneficiation Plant, from Kryvy Rih, told Interfax that it reduced commercial pellet production 33.4% year-on-year in January-May to 3.145 million tons. Iron ore concentrate output fell 13.2% to 5.169 million tons.
Central Mining, also from Kryvy Rih, raised commercial pellet output, by 1.5% year-on-year in January-May to 894,000 tons, however concentrate production plummeted by 37.8% to 1.755 million tons.
