KIEV, May 29 - President Viktor Yushchenko on Friday suspended the government resolution that had called for selling the country’s coal mines to investors through open auctions, the president’s press service reported.

Yushchenko argued that privatization of strategically important assets, including coal mines, is prohibited by law, and any changes to the law must be approved by Parliament before the government approves the resolution.
