KIEV, May 13 - Ukrainian banks lost nearly UAH5 billion during the first four months of the year, with overall income at UAH49.6 billion and expenditures UAH54.5 billion, according to the National Bank of ukraine.

The report says that as of May 1, a total of 185 banks operated in Ukraine.

There are 125 banks – open joint-stock companies among operating banks, 33 banks – closed joint-stock companies, 27 banks – limited liability companies.

Thirteen banks are undergoing liquidation, including 10 that are being liquidated under the NBU's decisions, and three under court rulings.
