KIEV, April 23 – The Fuel and Energy Ministry has recommended combined heat power plants halve their electricity generation.
Ministry spokesman Fent Di told Interfax-Ukraine that the recommendation was given on Wednesday at a meeting in the ministry devoted to the non-fulfillment of an instruction of Ukrenergo to cut electricity generation to a minimum level by some combined heat power plants.
"At the meeting, the minister paid attention to the fact that today electricity generated by nuclear power plants and heat power plants is cheaper than that generated by combined heat power plants. Now, there is no need to buy electricity from them at higher tariff," Di said.
