KIEV, March 26 - The government may allocate 7.7 billion hryvnias to Naftogaz Ukrayiny in subsidies under a bill submitted to Parliament to compensate the company for the difference in prices of imported gas and domestic residential prices.

The gap, earlier estimated by President Viktor Yushchenko’s office at about 10 billion hryvnias, is caused by the government's unwillingness to hike gas prices that Naftogaz is charging households, while Russian gas prices had increased steeply.
