KIEV, March 12 – Ukraine’s currency, the hryvnia, strengthened for the second day against the U.S. dollar on Thursday as prospects improved for the country to receive a $1.84 billion installment from the International Monetary Fund.
The hryvnia closed at 8.15 hryvnias to the dollar in trading between commercial banks on Thursday, compared with 8.25/dollar on Wednesday and 8.30/dollar on Tuesday, dealers said.
