KIEV, Feb. 23 – Ukraine will seek to resume talks with the International Monetary Fund next week to continue borrowing within a $16.4 billion rescue package amid a worsening economic environment, a top official said Monday.
Oleksandr Shlapak, the top economic aide to President Viktor Yushchenko, said the talks were needed to avert a major aggravation of the country’s finances and to be able to borrow from other international lenders.
