KIEV, Dec. 10 – Volodymyr Stelmakh, the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, will report to lawmakers Thursday on the hryvnia’s rapid weakening against the U.S. dollar, Prime Minister Yulia Tymosheko said Wednesday.
Stelmakh’s report may trigger his dismissal as many lawmakers express concerns with the NBU’s chaotic actions over the past two months as the hryvnia has lost 35% of its value against the U.S. dollar.
