KIEV, Dec. 1 - Fitch Ratings expects that some mining and metals companies will be shut down in Ukraine due to their inefficiency, the director of the mining and metals sector at Fitch Ratings, Sergey Grishunin said at a conference entitled "Ukraine in the Conditions of the International Crisis" organized by the agency in Kiev last week.

He said that as a whole, the forecast for the sector is negative, demand and prices of steel products will be low from Q4 2008 to Q4 2009.
