KIEV, Nov. 30 – Ukraine’s slowing economy, hit by financial crisis, will probably help the government slow the consumer inflation that has been plaguing the country since January, President Viktor Yushchenko said Sunday.

Ukraine will probably have inflation at 23% in 2009, compared with 15.9% forecast by the government, Yushchenko said, adding the government’s populist spending earlier this year was responsible.
