KIEV, Nov. 4 - Ukraine may secure a better price than originally expected for Russian natural gas in 2009 due to falling prices of crude oil, Energy and Fuel Minister Yuriy Prodan said Tuesday.

The comment indicated a shift in strategy for the Ukrainian government, which has been originally asking Russia not to increase gas prices to levels that Ukraine would not be able to afford.
