KIEV, Sept. 24 – UkrNafta, Ukraine’s largest oil producer, and SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s state oil company, may create a joint venture to refine Caspian Sea crude oil at two oil refineries in Ukraine, a top official said Wednesday.
The project was discussed earlier this month in Baku at a meeting between officials of the two companies, also involving Burzu Aliyev, the Ukrainian energy and fuel deputy minister, according to Bohdan Sokolovskiy, President Viktor Yushchenko’s special envoy on energy projects.
