KIEV, Sept. 8 – The pace of growth of Ukraine's GDP has accelerated mainly thanks to a rise in agricultural output, according to Concorde Capital Investment Company analysts Andriy Parkhomenko, Polina Khomenko and Kostiantyn Fisun.
"In July, Ukraine's GDP reached the highest level over the year, at 7.3% compared to July 2007. The pace of GDP growth increased mainly due to a rise in agricultural output. Over the seven months of 2008, agricultural production grew by 10.6% year-over-year, while in H1 2008 a 0.3% fall was registered. Thus, the large 2008 harvest allowed agriculture to compensate for the slowdown in industrial growth, which was 7.3% in seven months," the experts said.
