KIEV, July 31 – The volume of mergers and acquisitions in Ukraine in 2007 reached a record of $15.1 billion and will continue growing, according to Ernst & Young.
"In 2007, the mergers and acquisitions market in Ukraine almost tripled, to $15.1 billion... This is one of the highest paces of growth in the Ì&A market in the CIS in 2007. The increase of information openness, development of legislation and Ukraine's entering the WTO [World Trade Organization] encouraged foreign investors to expand their presence in the country," the company said.
