KIEV, July 14 - Ukraine's State Statistics Committee has increased its estimate for real GDP growth in the first quarter to 6.5% from 6%, the committee said in a Friday statement.
Nominal GDP was UAH186.635 billion in the first quarter of 2008, 1.65%, or UAH3.133 billion less than earlier-published figures. The change is largely due to a readjusted GDP deflator index, which fell to 127.3% from 130%.
According to the latest operative data from the State Statistics Committee, GDP grew 6.4% in January-May 2008 and 7.2% in May.
