KIEV, Feb. 6 – The level of dollarization of the Ukrainian economy in 2007 fell to 22.7%, down from 26.97% in 2006, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
"The fall in dollarization of the economy is unstable. In the structure of the banks' resource bases, the share of time deposits of other banks and credits that were received from other banks continues growing in the total liabilities of banks. In 2007, this share grew from 22.8% to 29.4%," reads the NBU monetary review for 2007, which has been posted on the NBU's Web site.
