KYIV, Aug 29 – Ukraine needs the fastest possible deployment of decentralized new generation, which will replace thermal power units that cannot be restored and will be resistant to missile attacks due to its own dispersion.
This was reported by Chairman of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytsky in an interview with the BBC.
"We need somewhere around 11-12 gigawatts of new capacity. Of these, three are the so-called balancing capacity. This is what will replace thermal power plants, which are now in such a difficult situation. And the rest are renewable sources. This is actually very cheap solar and wind energy," he said.
