KYIV, Aug 20 - The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has sent a request for international assistance through NATO's emergency response mechanism the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre.

The request concerns heavy equipment to support civilian rescuers who are struggling with the consequences of Russia's daily attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
